Dispatch "Capo Unified
officials intend to lease about one-third of their
new Valle Road headquarters, using the income for
facilities improvements at schools in San Juan
Capistrano and Mission Viejo -- areas that
contributed to the building's construction cost.
New Superintendent Dennis Smith said the district
will actually operate more effectively in the
smaller space, and the lease could generate up to
$400,000 a year. The construction of the building,
which will cost more than $50,000,000 with
interest, was one of the sparks that ignited the
recall fire."
