Schools fiscal Disconnect

Charlie Fernandez, The Orange County Register Great job and commentary on California education ["Math lesson," Commentary, March 15]. You said what many have thought when just "looking" at the dollars, and scores; they do not add up to more money. A similar comparison of teachers' pay to performance is timely; that also will not add up to more money yields greater value. Finally, this all begs for a comparison of school districts' superintendents' pay to performance. Someday public education may adopt ROI analysis in its budgeting process, if not, keep pumping out commentaries such as yours. This info helps us when schools are asking for our votes in support of their measures.
