Flaws in public education model start at home

When discussing the ills of
public education many opinions suggest a shift to the
charter/private school model ["School aid on its way," Front Page,
April 7]. The basic evidence would suggest that they are doing a
better job with fewer resources. Charter schools tend to get higher
test scores than their public school counterparts and many private
schools boast higher college-entrance rates than their public
neighbors...
