Casabianca Mailer Fraudulently Claims Bergeson Support

Former State Senator Endorses Challenger Anna Bryson

Snapshot 2007-01-26 04-01-35
Rancho Santa Margarita, CA. Scandal-Ridden CUSD Trustee John Casabianca just sent a deceptive mailer to voters across South Orange County suggesting that Former State Senator Marion Bergeson endorses and supports his re-election bid. Bergeson does not endorse or support John Casabianca – and she recently told him so. In fact, Marion Bergeson has proudly endorsed candidate Anna Bryson of the “ABC Reform Slate” for the CUSD Board of Trustees.

Steven Greenhut
From Steven Greenhut, Orange Punch blog:

After the Capistrano Unified School District recall scandal, which drove imperial Superintendent Jim Fleming from his post after it was revealed that the district maintained an enemies' list of parents supporting the board recall, it will be interesting to see how the board elections go on Nov. 7.
Here is a mailer from the reform slate.

Republican Central Committee Refuses to Endorse CUSD Trustees

OCGOPLogo
Incumbents Have Been Tarnished By Recall, District Attorney Investigation and Scandals

Irvine, CA. The Republican Central Committee met tonight for the purpose of providing early endorsements to sitting Republican incumbents across Orange County. Generally speaking, all Orange County Republican incumbents in good standing receive the political party’s endorsement in a single, routine, “consent calendar” vote. However, there was nothing routine about tonight’s vote as far as the three CUSD Trustee incumbents were concerned. The Republican Central Committee refused to provide an early endorsement to any of the three CUSD Trustees that must run for re-election in November (John Casabianca, Crystal Kochendorfer and Sheila Henness). “Reforming CUSD: Easy as ABC”

Addonizio, Brick & Christensen endorsed by CUSD Recall Committee

San Juan Capistrano, CA. Ellen Addonizio, Jack Brick and Larry Christensen have each declared their intention to run for a position on the Capistrano Unified School District (CUSD) Board of Trustees in this November’s elections. Today, the CUSD Recall Committee officially endorsed Addonizio, Brick & Christensen.

After an exhaustive search for the very best candidates, the CUSD Recall Committee is confident that Addonizio, Brick & Christensen will put the best interests of the children and the taxpayers above all other interests in each decision they make. We are also confident these reform candidates will ask the tough questions, hold the CUSD administrative staff accountable for their actions, and work to create a transparent organization that is responsive to the community. RSM City Councilmember urges voters to replace Fleming-trustees Casabianca, Henness & Kochendorfer in November

Gary Thompson_6
Comment posted on OCBlog.com by Gary Thompson, Councilmember, City of Rancho Santa Margarita

For far too long, the CUSD Trustees have been given a free pass. And just like any other government that has had no accountability at the ballot box, there is generally a migration to corruption in the organization. While the children languish in broken down, ancient and decrepit portable classrooms, and parents have to buy supplies for teachers because there aren't any provided by the district, the Trustees and the administration build themselves a $52,000,000 building for their bureaucracy. What is even more frightening is this building started out at $25,000,000 and has over doubled in cost.

This is the state of the Capistrano Unified School District today. And it is time for a change. Join me in encouraging new leadership to emerge among the ranks of the south county population to bring new faces and new energy, and most importantly, new accountability to this school district. There are three Trustees up for re-election this year. It is anticipated that all three will run again. But they will have competition this time, and I would urge any and all to support those new candidates that emerge, and help win back this school district for those that depend on it the most, for the children.
